We started Digitise in Manchester back in March 2019 with one simple idea: throw the kind of nights we'd want to go to ourselves. Since then, we've been bringing people together through high-energy events and an "anything around the breakbeat" music policy that keeps every night fresh.

  • We love so much music we've never wanted to pigeonhole ourselves into one genre. We're a multi-genre night, upping the BPM as the night goes on, from wubs to bleeps, we love it all.

  • Everyone wants to go out and have a good time — we just provide the space to do that with like-minded people, and we love watching new friendships form on the dancefloor.

  • It started as Chris just distracting everyone for a bit while we swapped DJs over. Somehow it turned into a full raffle, and now people genuinely love it more than we ever expected. We always make sure there's a range of prizes — including everyone's favourite, the meat round.

  • Years of buying more lights than we need and programming in more effects than anyone asked for, topped off by a £19.99 investment in some usb pedals so you can press buttons and set off the lasers yourself. We do it because we want the venue to feel like ours, not just another room. Even if you've been to that spot loads of times before, we're always trying to make it feel a bit different when it's a Digitise night.

  • Started between a few close mates who were fed up of dancefloors getting too serious, too dark and too heavy, and decided the answer was to flip that on its head. No investors, no big label, no one telling us what to play — just a group of friends bringing back the fun, euphoric, slightly silly spirit clubbing's supposed to have. Still run exactly the same way.

FIRST TIME COMING TO DIGITISE?

  • We're built around a broad "anything around the breakbeat" policy — think wobbly glitch-hop bass through to euphoric, uplifting Drum & Bass, with jungle, breaks, garage and bass house all finding their way onto the dancefloor too. If it's got energy, smiles and hands-in-the-air potential, it's fair game.

  • Come anyway. Some of our favourite regulars started out as a solo raver who didn't know a soul in the room. Digitise crowds have been called some of the friendliest dancefloors in Manchester, and that's not by accident — we build the night so it's easy to end up talking to someone new, whether that's over a raffle prize or just meeting new people in the smoking area. You'll leave with more mates than you came with.

  • Whatever makes you feel good. We sometimes run a theme for a night, but the only real rule is: be sparkly, be fabulous, be bright. Come as your most comfortable, most confident self.

  • Completely. Our dancefloor is for everyone — inclusivity and positivity sit at the heart of every event we throw, and that's not just a line, it's the whole reason we started this. Come as you are.
